After the wife and I started travelling following our marriage in SEP 2015, I tried to get her excited about the National Park System (https://www.nps.gov/index.htm). She had heard about them but was not on a tear to see a large number of the property under the NPS flag. There are only 59 national parks, but I am also interested in battlefields and monuments. Under that criteria, there are some 400 plus entities to see.
For example, I say there are six national parks in Texas. That is a mistake. There are only three. The wife and I have been to all three of the parks. One of those is Big Bend NP. We have seen that one, but there are some cancellation stations that are fun for us.
Big Bend National Park is a U.S. national park located in Western Texas, bordering Mexico. It has national significance as the largest protected area of Chihuahuan Desert topography and ecology in the United States. It contains more than 1,200 species of plants, more than 450 species of birds, 56 species of reptiles, and 75 species of mammals, according to Wikipedia.
